Job Description: A Food Service Assistant prepares food, stocks supplies, leads and communicates well with volunteers, prepares and cleans kitchen areas, and is an example of radical hospitality working alongside the Food Service Coordinator and volunteer servants. This position helps the hospitality team to walk in faith as we grow, to connect, and to serve intentionally within our church events as needed. This position will also be able to organize and run events in the absence of the Food Service Coordinator. These events include Wednesday dinners, outside group caterings, funeral receptions, weddings, and any other food service request. This is a part-time position with built-in training and room for growth. It is common for the Food Service Assistant to work early mornings, late nights, and on holidays and weekends. Working as a team, a Food Service Assistant has a strong communication skills, a flexible schedule, and can withstand long periods on their feet and lifting up to 50 pounds safely. Those who are well-suited to this position have great enthusiasm to serve as Christ served, are self-motivated to take initiative, enjoy working with others, and are excellent at multitasking.
