Dear Students and Parents,
At Trinity, we believe that one of the most important steps in a young person’s spiritual journey is what the Church calls “Confirmation.” Simply put, it’s a time when one “confirms” for him/herself the Christian faith and becomes a professing member of Christ’s holy Church. It’s a time when we embrace the Christ who has been embracing us – in both a personal way and a formal way through the Service of Confirmation.
We begin offering Confirmation Classes to our 6th grade students, which provides a valuable anchor for you transition from elementary to middle school. Confirmation is not only for 6th graders, any youth who would like to confirm their faith and join the church can register and participate. The experience is led by Rev. Aaron Rousseau.
2018 Classes will begin on January 7 with a mandatory orientation meeting at 11 am in the Youth Building. The first class is on January 21, Confirmation Sunday is April 15. Now that may seem like a long time period, but note two things:
We invite and encourage parents to be involved as much as they can in this confirmation experience, you will learn more during our orientation meeting.
Parents, we at Trinity consider the spiritual care and nurture of your student to be a “sacred trust,” one that we gratefully embrace with you, as we partner together in this most important work.
Students, we believe these next years can be some of the most important and exciting years in your own spiritual journey, and we want to join with you in making them be all that God and you hope they can be.
