Upcoming events

  • Youth COPE

    Sunday, September 14 | 3-7 PM

Faith Mission is excited to partner with Trinity’s youth to host our first youth Cost of Poverty Experience. This COPE will guide our youth through some of the challenges that families in poverty experience, with a time for reflection on our Christian response to poverty.

  • Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser

    February 20-22, 2026

Trinity’s 2nd Annual Pickleball Tournament Benefitting Faith Mission will be held at our NW campus on February 20-22, 2026. This is an opportunity for members of the pickleball and/or Gainesville community to come together to support social empowerment.

Social Empowerment

As we build community and walk alongside our neighbors out of poverty and systemic oppression, we strive for a more inclusive society for all people. Social empowerment comes in many forms, and Faith Mission is committed to learning what that means for our neighbors.

Circles Gainesville at Faith Mission is one way that we practice social empowerment. This ministry of Trinity is part of a national movement to help families move out of poverty and towards economic stability while removing local barriers that keep families in poverty. We seek to accomplish this through community-building between people across socioeconomic differences.

Place-based Learning

Throughout the ministry of Jesus, we see him walking with his neighbors, breaking bread with everyone, and teaching from within the multitudes. In the same way, Faith Mission has a permanent presence in our community, a place where we can all meet and grow together. These are some of the trainings and workshops that we offer.

  • Gain a glimpse into the challenges that families experiencing poverty navigate every day through this four-hour experiential learning opportunity. Faith Mission partners with Poverty Solutions Group in Orlando to offer COPE annually.

  • What does the Bible say about poverty? What is God’s response to poverty? Search the Old Testament and learn about poverty in your local context through this eight-week Bible study written by Rev. Clair Carter.

  • In this course, written by Rev. Neelley Hicks, learn about the causes and lasting effects of trauma, how to recognize trauma responses in our own lives, and coping mechanisms for choosing healthy responses and a life of joy.

For the Well-being of Us All

As the church strives to learn more about the complexities of poverty and racism and our role in these issues, we value the wisdom of the neighborhood. This includes our various community partnerships, through which we’ve launched several successful programs and trainings. When we learn together, we are able to build a more just and inclusive Gainesville that we believe reflects the kingdom of God.
