Community Conversation about Dementia

Date: Sun 2/2 | Time: 12:15-2:15 pm | Location: Room 232

Description: A gathering for interested individuals during which we will have interactive discussions while learning and sharing about dementia. The goal is to help reduce the stigma that often accompanies a dementia diagnosis by clarifying what dementia is (and what it isn’t). I will share statistics (your chances of getting some form of dementia if you live beyond age 65 is 1 in 10, and if you live beyond 85, it’s in 2). If you don’t currently know someone living with dementia, you likely will in the near future. Rather than allowing fear to dominate, let’s find a way to understand and then best support as with any other chronic condition. Registration deadline is Thursday, January 30th.
