Sometimes we just need a little hope to see us through. Maybe it’s the announcement that there’s going to be a new baby in the family. It could be a new opportunity that we didn’t plan or expect. Or perhaps it’s a piece of good news on a really hard day. Then there’s the confidence boost we feel when someone makes us feel valued and loved. The good news of Emmanuel, God with us brings all these possibilities and more to life. Join us this Advent season and let the thrill of hope fill your hearts.
Worship with us in-person or worship with us online anytime.
It’s the Most Wonderfully Generous Time…
If you’d like to make a year-end gift that helps Trinity finish 2024 strong, there’s still time! Go to https://trinitygnv.org/generosity to make your gift any time before the ball drops on New Year’s Eve. Still need to make your pledge for 2025? You can use the same link as above. See below for a special giving opportunity that may benefit both you and the church!
Thank you for the many ways you bless the ministries of Trinity and our missional partners in the community with your generosity throughout the year!
Got Stock?
Have you seen an appreciation in your portfolio this year? Did you know that a gift of stocks or other securities can not only bless the church as we approach the end of the year, but also provide a tax benefit to the donor? In many cases, you will receive a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the asset on the date it is transferred into the church’s name while avoiding capital gains tax on the appreciation of the asset. It’s a win-win! To find out more, contact Trinity’s Director of Administration and Finance, Stephanie Dyal (sdyal@trinitygnv.org or 352-376-6615).
Read Your Bible…Join the Challenge
We’re inviting the whole congregation to join the challenge of reading a passage of Scripture every day from Monday, September 16th to Christmas Eve, a total of 100 days. Each day's reading is less than five minutes and is suitable for all ages. Do it together with others as a family or small group. After each day's reading, ponder these questions:
1. What caught your attention? 2. What surprised you? 3. Where do you hear God speaking to you?
Let us know that you're joining the challenge! Please see the reading plan here!
Missions
This week’s Mission Focus is on Gainesville Community Ministry. For over 40 years, Gainesville Community Ministry (GCM) has provided emergency help and hope to families and individuals who are in crisis and lack the basic necessities of life. They provide practical assistance to the elderly, the disabled, and recipients of public assistance, as well as the "working poor" who are vulnerable to economic crises and have fallen between the cracks of other programs. GCM works hard to give a hand-up not a hand-out.
The December blue bin will benefit Family Promise.
They are in need of diapers, sizes 3-5 and 3t-4t pull-ups.
You can place these in the blue bins in the Narthex or Education Building Lobby.

So on the longest night, we invite you to experience a meditative worship service that makes time for remembering, sharing our hurting places with God, and preparing our hearts for the coming of Christ.

Christmas Eve Offering
This year's Christmas Eve offering will benefit Aces in Motion (AIM), a program that helps develop and support adolescents in under-resourced communities and schools in Alachua County. AIM primarily serves 60 middle and high school students and is focused on nurturing the whole young person through character development, academic achievement, and healthy lifestyles.
Many of these students will be the first in their families to attend college, while others are working diligently to prepare for future career opportunities. To help foster these goals, this year's offering will provide financial support for academic incentives, resources that equip students for thriving, and exposure trips to colleges and career-related opportunities. Your gift helps AIM inspire students to dream bigger and AIM higher! Go here to make your Christmas offering for AIM and thank you for your generosity!
