Growing Together during Lent

This year during Lent, you're invited to join others across the congregation in reading and reflecting on Scripture each day. We'll be using a resource entitled The Sanctuary for Lent, created by Rev. Justin LaRosa, a clergy member of the Florida Conference of the UMC. Each morning, you'll receive an email with the material for that day. Small groups and Sunday School classes are welcome to use this material to help guide conversations during Lent. If you would like to purchase a printed copy of the resource for yourself or a group, contact Margaret Myers. If you do not already receive weekly email communications from Trinity, go here to subscribe, put in your email address, first, last names, click the "weekly emails" box and then click sign up!

Missions

This week's Mission Focus is on House of Hope, a prison transitional ministry helping men and women mend lives from the consequences of crime since 1996. The program is Christ-centered and its participants live in a home, like a family. The belief is that love and support changes people from the inside out.

We are having a meal packing event THIS Sunday, February 23 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.

Please join us in the worship center for this great event to help feed hungry kids in our community!

Family Promise Bed Race

Come cheer on our Bed Race team! Trinity’s team will be racing at the Family Promise Bed race on February 22 at 10900 SW 24th Ave. The event activities start at 11:00 AM and the race begins at noon.

Are you interested in learning more about Zoe Empowers? The Florida Conference is going to Rwanda from June 11-20 and you're invited! There is an info Zoom at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, learn more here. For further information, contact Kelly Ping.

Would you like to help after a hurricane? We are hosting a basic training to be part of our Early Response Team on March 29. ERTs help with specific needs in the early days after a disaster, cleaning out flood-damaged homes, removing debris, placing tarps on homes and other tasks as needed, while providing a caring Christian presence. Here is a great blog from our own Andy Adkins about why being an ERT is so critical. You can register here.

The February blue bin supports Food4Kids. They are in need of non-perishable food. Please place these items in the blue bins in the Narthex or Education Building Lobby.

February 2025 Wednesday Worship Series, 6:35 PM, Trinity Chapel

Empowered by Grace: Exploring Wesleyan Theology through the lives of Black Women Preachers - Come and grow in your faith as you learn more about John Wesley’s religious perspective and the role of Black Women in American religion. In this series to celebrate Black History month, Dr. Bobbi Korner will combine her work as a Methodist Lay Speaker and as a performing artist to make women’s history come alive. This series will provide background on John Wesley’s anti-slavery stance and his openness to women preachers when many other church leaders used scripture to sustain slavery and denounce women in the pulpit.
